BUILDING ACCESS
Lolly Loft is a room on the first floor - suite 102 / 342 Elizabeth St Surry Hills . Video of the entry of the venue (from RAGZINE)
Lolly Loft apparently has accessible bathrooms but we can’t confirm that.
Visual signage will be available to signpost the different areas in the space
Service Animals are welcome into all spaces. Prince Alfred Park (on Chalmers St) is probably the closest grassy area for dog relief.
A quiet space for audience members will be provided in the ‘dressing room’ as a low-sensory space to take a break from the performance.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT
Doors will open to the venue at 6:00pm. A member of Back Stage Staff will be waiting at the front door of Lolly Loft to check your ticket and welcome you to the Prompt +1 Event.
You can see photos of the space at the Lolly Loft website
The concert will use low lighting and different coloured LED lights
There will be 3 interactive art pieces in the space.
Prompt 1 is a deconstructed percussion instrument with foam blocks and different sized tiles- the tiles are amplified creating interesting and jarring textural tones – metallic in sound, sharp and resonant
Prompt 2 is a canvas with electronics that makes sound when you get close to touching it- also textural and storm like waveforms.
Prompt 3 is a poetry area with books, words and 2 projectors- casting different images across the space. It does not create sound just lights
If you need a break at any time, there is a quiet space available separate to the main gallery space in the “dressing room”
The event will end at approximately 8:15-8:30pm
