To help sustain Australian musicians and composers through COVID, BackStage Music created an initiative to pair freelance composers and performers to collaboratively create new work. How awesome! Through a process of online dialogue composers and performers work together to create a one-minute solo work that focuses upon a single conceptual idea or technical aspect of the performer's instrument. Created are a score, analysis and recording of the miniature alongside a video demonstrating the specified technique and other supplementary material.
The content created forms a growing, invaluable resource for composers, performers, students and educators interested in living music.
