BackStage Music is an artist lead platform and since 2016 has featured local, early career and established artists who share a passion for the music of our time. The annual series provides a living space to encourage and enable the collaboration of musicians of diverse backgrounds, career stages and interests. 2022-23 | BackStage Music featured incredible artists from diverse backgrounds. Lamorna Nightingale co-curated each program with artists who have a unique voice and story to tell. Leaders in their community, these artists offered audiences a glimpse into their world and an opportunity to gain new perspectives. The artists included Alana Blackburn, Veronique Serret, Anna McMichael, Louise Devenish, Georgia Scott, Morwenna Collett, Kyla Matsuura Miller, Erhu Nicholas Ng, Amelia Taylor, Michael Birk, Gii, Troy Russell and Tim Gray.

2022 | BackYard was a presentation of sculpture and live performance, including a set of Australian flute and saxophone repertoire by Lamorna and James Nightingale, and Refract, cello and glass a sound-sculpture installation and performance made in collaboration with glass artist Caitlin Dubler, cellist Natasha Dubler, and percussionist Niki Johnson.

2021 | Now You Hear Her transformed a World Square shop front into a social and creative hub for playful and challenging musical experiences celebrating women. Curated by Lamorna Nightingale, Bree van Reyk and Damian Barbeler, Now You Hear Her will be a vibrant and joyful celebration of all the woman in our lives. BackStream were special live stream events to share work through the Sydney lockdown. The series included Niki Johnson, Josie Macken, Aviva Endean, Rosalind Page, Kezia Yap and Tristan Coelho, Damian Barbeler and Sonya Lifschitz..

2020 | Due to COVID many of the events were postponed. The series was to include Elisabeth Harnick, James Nightingale, Freya Schack-Arnott, Ben Ward, Sonya Lifschitz, Christine Johnston, Vanessa Tomlinson, Erik Griswold and Cat Hope. As the situation eased social afternoons were arranged at Joynton Ave Creative Centre, Zetland in the Happenings series.

2019 | BackStage Music at the Newsagency, showcasing early career and established artists including Cathy Milliken, Jane Sheldon, Lamorna Nightingale, Lewis Mosley, Biliana Voutchkova, Clayton Thomas, Ensemble Offspring, Henry Justo, William Barton and Veronique Serret.

2018 | BackStage Music in hidden laneways of Redfern, showcasing early career and established artists including Claire Chase, Ensemble Offspring, Julian Day, Georgina Oakes, Ensemble Onsombl, Phoebe Green, Bree Van Reyk, Kate Moore, Marcus Whale, Lauren Brincat, Rhainnan Newton, Cor Fuhler and Alice Chance.
